I will continue to update the dogs pages as time allows with that currently being the priority.

Spring is in the air here in the Pass and chores are mounting along with the muck. Life is poking up from my gardens and although there is still some snow around I can feel spring in the air and my gardens are calling. For anyone who wonders, the dogs do not have access to my gardens. They just won't dig where I tell them.

How do we know spring is coming?

The sleds are in the garage with the exception of one, which is holding it's rightful position on the top of the dog truck (wishful thinking on Richard's part for a fierce winter storm) and the cats have their summer beds back.

The deer are here everyday now and are helping to clean up all the leftover hay that has been strewn around the yard. They actually prefer to snip off all the new buds of grass in my front pasture but I discourage this behaviour in lieu of letting it grow for the horses. There is lots of food for everyone.

With spring comes the wildlife both large and small. We actually live on 3.5 acres which we pretty much share with whatever feels so inclined. This is Bullwinkle sharing the horses breakfast and waterer. He is a young and rather large bull moose who arrives each spring and usually spends a week.
Bullwinkle He is actually a rather polite boy as moose go and is respectful of our fence line and kennel. However the horses don't think much of him and are not particularly hospitable. He does have size in his favour though. He actually feels the dogs are his friends and beds down not far from them in the heavy grass. The smaller wildlife is also here but are much more annoying and destructive. We installed a new fence line last year. A high tensile polymer, safe for horses and wildlife however the turkeys think it is a great thing to chew on. We have spent the last month repairing the bottom string.

I have been trying to update and revamp the site as there has been lots of changes but never seem to be able to find the time. Mostly because writing the code for the pages is extremely time consuming as well as collecting all the information to go with the page. I have been looking for a site where I could just add the content and tweak the code as needed. Hence our transition to SquareSpace. Unknown to them, Carmacks Siberians started the change. We don't actually know each other but we do have mutual friends at Northwapiti Kennel and both share Northwapiti dogs afar. So along with cooking turkey and ham, I spent the weekend looking for a new home for the site as well as managing our own domain name. The dogs on the other hand are moving into spring here in the Pass. The kennel is muddy, parts are still frozen, and we are back to training runs on the quad.
